Daisougen no Chiisanaie

A Majestic Log House with a Timeless Presence

Our story began with a 40-hectare racehorse farm, passed down through generations. However, everything changed after a trip to Canada decades ago. The sight of stunning log houses left an unforgettable impression, lingering in both heart and mind long after returning home. That passion grew, intensified, and eventually erupted into action—leading to the creation of our handcrafted log cottage and restaurant. As a pioneer of green tourism in Shikaoi, we continue to evolve, staying true to our roots while embracing new possibilities.

Tomaru Café Shikaoi

A Place for Newcomers, Travelers, and the Local Community

The owner, originally from Kagawa Prefecture, had long dreamed of living in a traditional Japanese house. After a fortunate encounter, she found the perfect old home, renovated it, and transformed it into a café and guesthouse. In the past, about half of the guests were international travelers. Today, the café opens only for special events, while the guesthouse operates as a private rental. Located in Shikaoi, a town rich in outdoor activities, we aim to create an even more dynamic and engaging experience for our guests.
