About 100 meters upstream, there is a free, open-air hot spring called "Shikanoyu Onsen." The name means “deer hot spring,” and Yezo deer are often seen around the bath and the camping grounds. Additional bathing facilities are available for a fee at Shikaribetsu Kanno Onsen, about 10 minutes away by foot.
