A hot air balloon generates lift by heating the air inside the envelope using a burner. Shikaoi Town is home to a dedicated horse trail made of wood chips, known as "Uma no Michi" (The Horse’s Path). For intermediate and advanced riders, we offer an unforgettable horse trekking tour, covering kilometers of diverse terrain—crossing rivers, galloping along long embankments, and riding through mountains and open fields. We also offer special plans that include lunch at a local restaurant, so be sure to check them out. Of course, beginner-friendly programs are also available, ensuring a fantastic experience for riders of all levels.
Once facing concerns over its population, the Miyabe Char, an endemic species of Lake Shikaribetsu, has made a remarkable recovery. Now, for just 50 days a year, we welcome guests from across Japan to enjoy this unique fishing experience. Our programs cater to all levels, from seasoned anglers to complete beginners. In recent years, we’ve also seen a growing number of female anglers joining in on the excitement.
